 Electronic fuel injection enhancer digital control panel increase fuel savings in trucks 

In the early days of HHO generator technology, many trucks were unable to have fuel savings higher than 22,5% due to the strict parameters of their computer management systems. These trucks have electronic fuel injection with advanced ECUs (Engine Control Units with Euro modules IV and V) and some would simply not allow fuel economy to be improved beyond a certain programmed value.

As HHO generator technology advances, more trucks are now able to benefit despite these ECU limitations. The new electronic fuel injection enhancer EFIE-DCP is one of the newest products to address these problems and solve the limitations of many modern vehicle ECUs making possible now to have high fuel savings in the most modern trucks and cars.

What is a EFIE-DCP?

The EFIE-DCP is the most advanced electronic fuel injection enhancer (EFIE) in the market. It uses OBD scan tools allowing the control in real-time of the MAF/MAP sensor (airflow sensor) and two oxygen sensors (lambda sensors). With the digital control panel you will be able to check the engine performance by looking at several parameters available:

  • Coolant temperature in degree Celsius;
  • Vehicle speed in km/h;
  • Engine speed in rpm;
  • MAF rate in g/s;
  • Oxygen sensor in voltage;
  • Fuel trim in %;
  • Fuel consumption gph in l/100 km.

Any regulations made in the EFIE-DCP can be instantly monitored by looking at the panel and the effect on fuel consumption evaluated. You will no longer need to be making regulations “blindfold” like in others EFIEs available in the market. This means higher fuel savings in your car or truck.

Additionally normal EFIEs just allow one possible regulation point causing some problems because when we are driving we are constantly changing the speed of the vehicle and engine performance. This single regulation position will never match perfectly the performance of your car causing problems because sometimes the engine light to be turned ON or resulting in poor fuel saving results.

To solve this problem our new EFIE-DCP has 4 programs available (4 regulation points) that will automatically be activated depending on the speed of the vehicle:

  • Program 1 - Speed below 40 km/h;
  • Program 2 - Speed between 40-80 km/h;
  • Program 3 - Speed between 80-120 km/h;
  • Program 4 - Speed above 120 km/h.

This means that when you start driving, the first program will be activated and will regulate your MAP/MAF and Oxygen Sensors according to a certain ratio (ex: 10% of signal regulation). When you increase your speed, the next program will be activated and start regulation according to the new driving conditions (ex: 20% of signal regulation) - automatic speed regulation

According to your installation configuration you need to activate the sensors in order to be able to regulate and change the electronic injection. You may work with the following options:

  • 2 sensors enhanced – 1 x MAF/MAP + 1 x Lambda sensors;
  • 2 sensors enhanced – 2 x Lambda sensors;
  • 1 sensor enhanced – 1 x MAF/MAP;
  • 1 sensor enhanced – 1 x Lambda sensor.

Carbon Dioxide (CO) is also measured, but is not considered a harmful gas. When the measured gases from the vehicle exceed the NCT limits, the vehicle fails the emissions test.

DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis of high emissions can be an involved process that usually requires special tools and measuring equipment. However, armed with a test report indicating what gases are high can help you determine what systems may not be functional. If the vehicle has failed as a result of high CO and HC, the CO failure should be diagnosed first. If the “Service Engine Soon” or “Check Engine” light is on it should be diagnosed prior to any emissions diagnosis. CO Failure is the result of an excessively rich air fuel mixture. PRECAUTIONS, TIPS, and NOTES

If the engine is due for a tune up it is wise to perform preventative maintenance prior to spending too much time diagnosing the emissions problem. Proper vehicle maintenance can go a long way in keeping a vehicle’s emissions within specifications. A complete tune-up should consist of: spark plugs, ditributor cap and rotor (if equipped), spark plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, and oil change. Although performing this service is no gaurantee of a passed emissions test, it certainly increases the likelyhood of success.
